It was in 2016 at The Portsea Camp, this beautiful Mere Pounamu (treasure) was gifted from Jason Pahi (Pouwaru) Taura Pou Whakarae to Papa Johnny Nepe-Apatu (Pouwaru) Taura Pou Whakarae &
Te Whare Tuu Taua o Te Ara Hononga.
Then in 2017 at Bornhoffen PCYC, Papa Johnny Nepe-Apatu gifted the Mere Pounamu to Pepe Nahu-Roberts (Pouwaru) Taura Pou Whakarae & Te Manawa Ora as a symbol of 'Te Hono aa Tae' at the Te Whenua Moemoeaa Hui aa Tau that year in Te Whenua Aariki (Queensland).
This then became the 'Mauri' between the 2 roopu Te Whare Tuu Taua o Te Ara Hononga and
Te Manawa Ora.

The 'Mauri' has a significant presence here in Te Whenua Moemoeaa (Australia), representing all peka here in Te Whenua Moemoeaa and our links to Aotearoa and in particular Te Whare Tuu Taua O Aotearoa and of course Papa Johnny Nepe-Apatu.
It is envisaged that the 'Mauri' will be present at each Hui aa Tau to signify its meaning and purpose
"Te Hono aa Tae".
It is expected that each peka understands its importance and significance of:
1) What a 'Mauri' is.
2) The history that Te Hono aa Tae has with Te Whenua Moemoeaa.
Currently Te Hono aa Tae resides back in and with Te Whare Tuu Taua o Te Ara Hononga - NAARM (Melbourne), presented to them by Te Manawa Ora at the Hui aa Tau 2022.
