We started with a hand full of curious but very eager bunch of people in 2012.  The first training took place at a little park in Kingston.  ​This little run got them hungry for more.

Then we had a few more come along the next time, but this time our training moved to the Crest mead Community Centre, thanks to our Whaea Brenda Lee.

The months flew by and we had our first Tu Taua waananga.  We had two gentlemen from Geelong attend the waananga as well, Paul Burns our Chinese brother and Ronnie Puru (Ngaati Hine\Ngapuhi) and also attended at the time was Mike Mato (Te Tairaawhiti\Waikato) who resides in Brisbane.

The waananga was held at the Jacobs Well Community Hall in Jacobs Well.  It was about this time, to where we finally named the roopu 'Te Manawa Ora'.
